Rod Wave’s highly anticipated concert at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, scheduled for Wednesday night (Jan. 8), has been canceled due to the escalating wildfires across Los Angeles County. The rapper made the announcement on his Instagram Story, sharing news of the cancellation alongside footage of the fires.
“Concert Tonight Cancelled By Gov. Officials,” Rod Wave wrote, adding, “I Hope Everyone Stays Safe,” with a prayer-hands emoji. The Intuit Dome’s social media accounts echoed the announcement, emphasizing the priority of safety for both fans and staff. “Tonight’s Rod Wave concert has been cancelled due to the wildfires in Los Angeles. The health and safety of our fans and employees will remain the top priority,” the venue stated. They also assured ticket holders that refunds would be processed at the original point of purchase.
There has been no confirmation yet regarding a rescheduled date for the concert, which was part of Rod Wave’s Last Lap Tour. The show was set to feature performances by Moneybagg Yo, Toosii, Lil Poppa, Dess Dior, and Eelmatic. The next scheduled stop on the tour is in Denver at Ball Arena on Monday.
Rod Wave’s tour is in support of his latest album, Last Lap, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in October. This concert cancellation adds to a growing list of events affected by the ongoing wildfires, including the premiere of the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man and the delayed Oscar nominations reveal.
