Michigan rock music band Pop Evil has announced the release of their eighth studio album, What Remains, set to drop on March 21 via MNRK. Fans can pre-order the album on vinyl starting this Friday, January 10, through the band’s official website.
In celebration of the album announcement, Pop Evil has released the music video for the third single, “Wishful Thinking.” The track is described by frontman Leigh Kakaty as an exploration of deeper, darker, and more intense musical territory.
“‘Wishful Thinking’ pushes us into a realm that’s deeper, darker, and more intense than ever before,” Kakaty explains.
For two decades, Kakaty has been at the helm of Pop Evil, steering the band from Michigan’s blue-collar roots to the forefront of modern rock. The band’s journey has been marked by both triumphs and setbacks, and What Remains encapsulates this experience. Drawing from the successes and struggles of their past, the album is described as the most intense, both musically and thematically, in the band’s history.
Following the path set by 2023’s Skeletons, What Remains presents a thundering collection of arena-ready rock and metal anthems. With this new album, Kakaty opens up his heart, mind, and soul, offering a raw, unfiltered look at his personal journey with Pop Evil.
