The nominees for the 56th annual NAACP Image Awards have been revealed, and hip hop’s biggest stars are dominating the music categories. Leading the pack is GloRilla, who secured six nominations, including Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album, and Outstanding Hip Hop/Rap Song.
Close behind, Doechii, Kendrick Lamar, and Usher each earned four nominations. GloRilla, Doechii, and Usher are also contenders for the coveted Outstanding Album award, alongside Beyoncé and PJ Morton.
The NAACP also announced nominees for the prestigious Entertainer of the Year category, with Cynthia Erivo, Keke Palmer, Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Hart, and Shannon Sharpe in the running.
NAACP President Derrick Johnson shared his excitement for the awards show, stating, “We look forward to celebrating the brilliance of Black talent and creativity whose stories shape culture, ignite change, and inspire generations.”
Fans can cast their votes for their favorite nominees through the official website until February 7. Winners will be announced during the Creative Honors Ceremonies on February 21, followed by a live broadcast from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on February 22, 2025.
