“Show Up” marks Purcell’s transition to Christian music after years of success in the country genre under her maiden name, Rachel Wammack. A lifelong fan of Christian music, Purcell co-wrote the song with Trannie Anderson (Lainey Wilson, Anne Wilson) and producer Jeff Pardo (Matthew West, Katy Nichole). The track blends soulful pop with a retro flair, evoking the timeless sounds of Muscle Shoals.
