Indie-pop outfit Japanese Breakfast is set to embark on an extensive international tour in 2025, celebrating the release of their highly anticipated fourth studio album, For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women). The album, due out on March 21 via Dead Oceans, represents a significant evolution for the band, marking their first studio-recorded project after previously relying on improvised spaces such as warehouses, trailers, and lofts for their first three albums.
Led by frontwoman Michelle Zauner, who also serves as the band’s primary songwriter and guitarist, Japanese Breakfast will take their new music to fans across multiple continents. The Melancholy Tour will kick off with performances at both weekends of Coachella on April 12 and 19, followed by a U.S. leg that runs through late April and early May. The tour will culminate in a hometown show at Philadelphia’s The Met on May 16.
Following their U.S. dates, Japanese Breakfast will head to Europe and the U.K. in June and July, before returning to North America for August and September shows in San Diego, San Francisco, Bend, Vancouver, and Minneapolis.
Tickets for the Melancholy Tour are now on sale.
