CKRAFT Unveils “Misconstruction of the Universe” Ahead of Sophomore Album

Paris-based experimental metal band CKRAFT has released their latest single, “Misconstruction of the Universe,” the third track from their upcoming sophomore album Uncommon Grounds. The band, known for its genre-defying blend of metal, jazz, and medieval influences, fuses a rich array of instruments—including synth-accordion, saxophone, guitar, bass, and drums—into a dynamic soundscape that blurs the lines between genres.

The new single draws inspiration from Gregorian chants, with “Misconstruction of the Universe” featuring a lead melody from the ancient chant Universi Qui Te Expectant. The song explores humanity’s attempts to understand the universe, spanning both ancient religious perspectives and modern scientific thought.

Accompanying the release is a grandiose music video, which presents the band in the midst of a dramatic confrontation between two battling figures. The cinematic visuals enhance the track’s theme, offering a powerful, larger-than-life portrayal of the struggle for understanding in a complex world. With this release, CKRAFT continues to carve out their unique space between the sonic worlds of Gojira and John Coltrane.
