Keith Urban has announced that he is parting ways with two influential members of his band, marking the end of an era for the country music star. One of the musicians has been with Urban for over 25 years, a significant part of his Nashville career, while the other is a groundbreaking innovator who created his own instrument for Urban’s 2016 Ripcord Tour.
As Urban prepares for his High and Alive World Tour, which kicks off in May 2025, he’s already scheduled several performances before then. His most recent album, High, was released in September 2024.
Though it remains unclear how many members were affected by the lineup changes, at least two musicians have shared their thoughts publicly on social media. One of them, bandleader and bassist Jerry Flowers, expressed his gratitude for his time with Urban, revealing the change ahead of the new year.
With a heavy heart, Flowers wrote, “I have and always will have the utmost respect and love for Keith, and I treasure the amazing years we had together. I want to thank all the fans who have shown me so much love for so many years, and I hope I was a small part of bringing you joy and happiness through our shows.”
The outpouring of support from Flowers’ fans has been overwhelming. One fan commented, “You were the heart and soul of the band. The one who always made eye contact with the fans and always had a smile for us. I’ll never forget how you made sure I got one of your wristbands and a guitar pick. You will be greatly missed. Best wishes for your future.”
