Jackie Farry, the former MTV host and notable figure in the rock music world, has passed away at the age of 58. Variety reports that Farry died from a lung disease after a long battle with cancer that lasted over two decades.
Farry was known for her close work with legendary bands, including Nirvana, and she was the first nanny for Frances Bean Cobain. She also served as a tour manager for artists like Elliott Smith, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and The Lemonheads. After Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994, Farry briefly hosted the MTV show Super Rock.
