Dublin-born, London-based band Tayne has unveiled their new single, “Scars,” a powerful blend of Lady Gaga-inspired pop with a percussive, “Terminator Judgment Day”-influenced thud of destruction. The track marks the band’s first release ahead of their debut album Love, set to drop on January 31, 2025, via MNRK/Inside Job.
Frontman Matt Sutton describes “Scars” as an exploration of vulnerability and emotional honesty, encouraging listeners to embrace intimacy and not let past burdens weigh them down. The track’s raw, thematic depth aligns with the band’s bold sound.
To celebrate the single, Tayne is offering fans the chance to get one of 20 exclusive Tayne tattoos, which will be inked by Sutton himself at the renowned Kings Cross tattoo studio, Sacred Gold. The band will also host an album release party on February 5 at Camden’s iconic The Black Heart, a hotspot for metal and alternative music.
Produced by Sutton and longtime collaborator Wayne Adams (Green Lung, Pet Brick), “Scars” is part of a wider collaborative effort that includes artists such as Jesu, Rolo Tomassi, and Katie Kim. Tayne has also supported major acts including HEALTH, Author & Punisher, and The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato.
The band is also slated to perform at the 2000 Trees and ArcTanGent festivals, alongside a diverse lineup featuring Kneecap, Taking Back Sunday, The Melvins, Between the Buried and Me, and more.
