Country music artist Hardy shared a heartfelt story on Instagram Monday about his late grandfather, revealing the inspiration behind his new song, “Buck on the Wall.” A passionate hunter like his grandfather, Hardy penned the track as a tribute to the man who played a significant role in his life and family traditions.
“Some of you know, but my grandfather passed away a year ago,” Hardy wrote. “In 1989, he built our family a little cabin, which we’ve used as our deer camp for the last 35 years. The walls are lined with 30-40 bucks we’ve mounted over the years. This fall and winter season is the first one he hasn’t been a part of, and I wish so bad he could’ve seen this deer. But I’m damn proud to keep our family tradition alive and keep putting bucks on the walls that he built. So this one’s for him. Love you, Pop.”
The emotional post accompanied the announcement of “Buck on the Wall,” showcasing Hardy’s deep connection to his family and the legacy left by his grandfather.
In a separate Instagram post, Hardy also gave fans a preview of “Jim Bob,” a track from his upcoming Live From Red Rocks album, which is set to further highlight his blend of raw emotion and storytelling.
The posts struck a chord with fans, offering a glimpse into the personal stories that continue to inspire Hardy’s music.
