Jason Isbell is embracing a new direction in 2025 with the announcement of his solo acoustic album Foxes in the Snow, set for release on March 7th. After years of collaborating with his backing band, The 400 Unit, Isbell will venture into a more intimate musical experience with this stripped-down project.

The album, recorded at the iconic Electric Lady Studios in New York City, was crafted with an all-mahogany 1940 Martin 0-17 guitar. Along with the album, Isbell will embark on a solo acoustic tour, performing in historic venues that are expected to complement the intimate atmosphere of the shows. Fans can get a taste of the new sound with the release of Bury Me, a country-tinged track that showcases Isbell’s songwriting prowess.

While Isbell is taking a break from The 400 Unit, the band is far from over, with future dates scheduled for later in the year. This shift in creative direction follows a tumultuous period for Isbell, including his divorce from fellow musician Amanda Shires in early 2024.

Considered one of the greatest songwriters of his generation, Isbell’s latest venture promises a fresh yet personal chapter in his already celebrated career.
