Shaboozey, one of the hottest acts in country music right now, has been forced to postpone his highly anticipated Grand Ole Opry debut due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. The rising star, whose hit single A Bar Song (Tipsy) has made waves with historic chart performance, was set to perform on January 18 as part of the Opry’s annual celebration of Dolly Parton’s birthday.
However, the devastating fires have led to mandatory evacuations, including Shaboozey’s home in Los Angeles, prompting the Opry to announce the rescheduling of his performance. The Grand Ole Opry posted on Facebook: “Due to the ongoing wildfire crisis in Los Angeles and evacuation from his LA home, Shaboozey will be rescheduling his Opry debut to occur at a later date. Our thoughts are with Shaboozey, Los Angeles, and the surrounding communities during this time.”
A Bar Song (Tipsy) has made history, spending 19 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s all-genre Hot 100 chart and earning a spot on the Billboard Top 100 songs of the first 25 years of the 21st century, making it one of the most successful country singles in recent memory. Fans will have to wait a little longer to see Shaboozey take the Opry stage, but his star continues to rise.
