Country music icon George Birge has released his latest single, “It Won’t Be Long,” a poignant reminder to cherish the moments and people we love before they’re gone. The life-affirming track encourages listeners to embrace life’s unpredictability and live fully, no matter the circumstances.
The chorus of the song delivers its emotional core: “It might be crazy, it might be sweet, Might not be perfect, and it might be the last thing that you ever saw coming, But it gets a little better when it’s spinnin’ round something… So buy the drink, steal the kiss, make the trip, take the risk, love hard as you can and just hold on, Cause life might be a lot of things, but it won’t be long.”
Birge, who co-wrote the song with Joe Fox, Chase McGill, and Trannie Anderson, says the track is a personal reminder for him to focus on what matters most. “Wrote this song to remind myself to chase the people and the things I love,” he shared. “Hope it hits you the same way.”
“It Won’t Be Long” follows Birge’s previous chart-topping hits “Mind on You” and “Cowboy Songs.” Fans can catch him on the road as he opens for Dylan Scott on the Country Till I Die Tour, which kicks off April 3 in Boston.
