Lanie Gardner, named an Amazon Music 2025 Artist to Watch, is making a powerful statement with her new single, “Buzzkill.” The fiery track, filled with sharp wit and unrelenting attitude, is a bold anthem for anyone who’s had to confront the chaos brought on by a toxic friend.
“I wrote this song about a friend who always brought around those textbook ‘mean girls,’ the ones you could spot a mile away,” Gardner explains. “He’s as stubborn as a mule, so we figured we’d just let him be. But me? I like a buzz when I’ve caught it. So, somebody had to say something—and you bet your a** I did. And I put it in a song. I give you ‘Buzzkill!’”
The track quickly became a fan favorite during her live shows, and after receiving an overwhelming number of requests on social media, Gardner is excited to share it as a preview of her highly anticipated sophomore album, set for release later this year. “Buzzkill” highlights her unapologetic authenticity and delivers a message of self-empowerment with raw, unapologetic honesty.
As Gardner heads into 2025, the CMT Next Up Now Artist will support Corey Kent on his Black Bandana tour and make her debut at Stagecoach, performing alongside headliners Jelly Roll, Zach Bryan, and Luke Combs. With her debut album, A Songwriter’s Diary, released in October 2024 to critical acclaim, Gardner is quickly becoming one of country music’s most exciting new voices, blending her roots with a fresh, rock-infused edge. Recognized by the Recording Academy as one of 2025’s Top 25 Artists to Watch, Gardner’s rise in the industry is undeniable.
