Canadian country music singer Orville Peck is set to make his Broadway debut on March 31, stepping into the iconic role of the MC in the celebrated musical Cabaret at the August Wilson Theatre.
Peck, known for his distinctive blend of country and theatrical flair, shared his excitement about the opportunity, revealing that playing the MC has been a lifelong dream. “The MC has been my dream role since I was a teenager,” Peck said. “The nature of the character allows for complete freedom of individual expression.”
Peck will succeed Adam Lambert, the rock singer and former American Idol finalist, who has portrayed the role since the production’s revival. Peck’s run will last for 16 weeks, with another actor set to take over the role in July.
