Country music star Hardy recently shared his admiration for rap music, naming his Top 5 rappers during a guest appearance on Steve-O’s Wild Ride! podcast.

Known for his chart-topping country hits and his songwriting in Nashville, Hardy surprised fans with his choices, placing Eminem at the top of his list. When prompted by Steve-O, who asked about the age-old debate of the best rappers, Hardy didn’t hesitate to assert his favorite artists.

“I was thinking LA, but Jay-Z, yeah, 100 percent,” Hardy said, adding Jay-Z to the list after a moment’s reflection. Interestingly, despite collaborating with Snoop Dogg on a remix of his 1994 hit “Gin & Juice” and appearing in a video alongside Snoop and Dr. Dre, the West Coast legend didn’t make Hardy’s final cut.

With only five spots to fill, Hardy’s picks highlight his eclectic musical tastes and deep respect for hip hop’s storytelling tradition. Whether in country or rap, Hardy has an eye for the power of lyrics that speak to the heart.
