The Halo Effect, trailblazers of the Gothenburg metal scene, are back with their highly anticipated new album, March Of The Unheard, set to redefine the boundaries of melodic death metal.
Three decades after their members first elevated the genre to international fame, the band proves that melodic death metal is alive and evolving. March Of The Unheard showcases their innovative approach, bringing fresh energy to the genre they helped shape.
The album’s lead single, “What We Become,” epitomizes the ferocity of their sound. The track is a powerful display of melodic aggression, featuring blistering guitar solos, hard-hitting drums, and anthemic hooks that have long captivated metal fans. Accompanying the song is a visually striking video, shot in an isolated barn under the direction of Johan Carlen, perfectly capturing the song’s intensity and somber themes.
Lead vocalist Mikael Stanne expressed his excitement: “The wait is over! Our second album is here, and we couldn’t be prouder. The songs exude confidence, experience, and love for the craft. And to celebrate, we’re sharing the video for ‘What We Become,’ which delves into themes of emotional transformation through depression, self-doubt, and insecurity.”
With March Of The Unheard, The Halo Effect not only revisits their roots but also pushes the genre into thrilling new territory.
