White Rock Concerts season ticket holders are in for a treat this Saturday, January 25, as the renowned Elektra Women’s Choir makes its highly anticipated return after 27 years. The concert, titled Elektra-fying, will be held at White Rock Baptist Church (1657 140 St.) at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7:00 p.m.
Under the direction of Morna Edmundson, Elektra will showcase its signature classical sound and rich programming, celebrating the “joy and mystery of music itself.” The evening will feature a selection of powerful choral works, including Consider the Lilies (set by Stephen Smith), Ave Maria (composed by David MacIntyre), and Joni Mitchell’s Little Green, arranged by Kate MacColl.
Other highlights include compositions by Franz Schubert, David Conte, Henry Purcell, and contemporary works by Tõnu Kõrvits, Iryna Alexsiychuk, and Katerina Gimon.
Admission requires proof of White Rock Concerts membership, either through a membership card or a TicketBud stub.
