Boston underground rap music legend Big Dese and Florida producer Mike Martinez have released their highly anticipated album NO RESPECT, and along with it, they’ve unveiled the visuals for the track “Mad Rapper 2.0.”
The song references the iconic 90s rap skit character “Mad Rapper” created by former Bad Boy Records producer Deric D-Dot. In the track, Big Dese unapologetically shares his views on the current rap scene, expressing a dismissive attitude toward certain trends in modern rap while still making it clear that his opinions are all in good fun.
With a dark, ominous production backdrop by Mike Martinez, Big Dese delivers sharp lyrics, stating: “Kendrick ain’t wack, but let’s just say he’s not for me” and “If anybody mumbling, I would not get through the verse.” The playful yet critical tone of the track is underscored by the matching visual, produced by Chow Films, which is bound to resonate with both long-time fans and newcomers alike.
