Cork-based experimental pop artist HANNAHBELLA has released her new single, “Dainty Fae,” the first track from her upcoming EP Parasite. The song explores the themes of loneliness and self-pity through the story of a fae abandoned in isolation, yet wrapped in an unexpectedly playful sonic package.
Teaming up with producer Jessica Richardson (WhenTheBeatIsBad), HANNAHBELLA crafted the track alongside her band, evolving it into a crowd favorite with layered depth and expansive energy. The song features a contrast between raw emotional lyrics and upbeat, funky pop elements, a balance that HANNAHBELLA embraced during the recording process. The track was brought to life at Wavefield Recordings in West Cork with Brian Casey, who helped create a vibrant and magical soundscape.
“Dainty Fae” is a haunting yet whimsical exploration of emotional complexity, capturing the mix of darkness and whimsy felt in moments of abandonment.
