SM Entertainment’s classical and jazz label, SM Classics, has launched its debut album, Across The New World, which seeks to blend the worlds of K-pop and classical music. Released on Friday, the album features 14 orchestral renditions of iconic SM tracks, including reimagined versions of “Rising Sun” and “Into the New World.”
The album’s title reflects the label’s mission to fuse past and present genres, offering fresh interpretations of popular hits like “Tree,” “Sherlock (Clue + Note),” and “Growl.” Notably, Rising Sun (Orchestra Ver.) combines TVXQ’s hit with Vivaldi’s “Summer” from The Four Seasons, delivering an innovative fusion of classical elements and K-pop energy.
In addition to the album, SM Classics has unveiled a brand film, Across the New World, on SM Town’s YouTube channel, visually capturing the label’s mission. The film highlights the dynamic blend of K-pop and classical music, offering a compelling new soundscape for listeners.
The album is available on major streaming platforms including iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify, and will serve as a preview for the upcoming SM Classic Live 2025 with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra concerts in February.
