ATEEZ Makes History with Switzerland’s First K-Pop Arena Show

by Barbara

Switzerland witnessed its first-ever K-pop arena show, as the popular South Korean boy band ATEEZ performed to a sold-out crowd at Zurich’s Hallenstadion, which boasts a capacity of 15,000. This landmark event follows ATEEZ’s historic achievement as the first male Korean group to perform at Coachella in 2024.

The show, promoted by TAKK ab Entertainment and AEG Presents, marked a significant moment for the Swiss market, which had never before hosted a major K-pop arena concert. Théo Quiblier, vice president of booking at TAKK, shared with IQ the immense challenge of bringing top-tier K-pop acts to new markets, especially given the massive scale of their productions.

“This event was made possible by the incredible vision and bold decisions of the AEG team, who took a significant leap of faith in Switzerland,” Quiblier stated. “We’re grateful to ATEEZ for bringing this opportunity to their fans here.”

Quiblier emphasized the uniqueness of the event, noting that promoters usually rely on historical sales data before committing to such large-scale shows. However, this performance marked a fresh chapter, with both the production and the venue reaching new heights in recent years. Despite the risks involved, Quiblier and AEG’s Simon Jones worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event, which was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from fans.

“The result speaks for itself,” said Quiblier. “The fans had an unforgettable experience, and that is the ultimate reward for us promoters.”
