Los Angeles-based metalcore outfit The Dark has released a striking new music video for their track Circles, the lead single from their debut self-titled EP, set to drop in February via Arising Empire.
The band describes Circles as a song exploring duality, balancing contrasting elements such as tension and acceptance, questions and ignorance. With influences ranging from metal to disco, the track’s production reflects this eclectic blend, featuring call-and-response verses, heavy riffs, and a pulsating acid bassline. The music video, shot with high-quality cameras and intentionally degraded through an old TV, mirrors the song’s conceptual clash of refinement and rawness. The band shares that creating Circles was an exhilarating experience, tapping into a variety of sonic influences and playful innuendos.
