The cause of death for rap music star DJ Unk, best known for his 2006 hit “Walk It Out,” has been confirmed. His widow, Sherkita Long-Platt, revealed in an emotional statement on January 26 that the Atlanta rapper passed away at the age of 43 after suffering a cardiac arrest in his sleep.
Two days earlier, Long-Platt had posted a heartfelt tribute to her late husband on Facebook, asking for privacy during this difficult time: “Please respect me and my family. I just lost my husband and my kids just lost their father. Our life will never be the same. I LOVE YOU ANTHONY FOREVER.” At that time, the cause of death was not disclosed.
Long-Platt also addressed rumors regarding DJ Unk’s potential involvement with substance abuse, reassuring the public that her husband had not struggled with drugs. The revelation adds clarity to the circumstances surrounding his unexpected passing.
