Central Cee took to a livestream to celebrate the release of his highly anticipated debut album, Can’t Rush Greatness, and within an hour, he’d recorded a brand-new track titled “24 Hours.” The freestyle session, hosted on PlaqueBoyMax’s live stream, saw the rapper creating the track in real-time during an ‘In The Booth’ studio session.
Max introduced the recording environment with a quirky touch—a red British telephone box, which served as Cee’s “custom booth” for the session. Over a dreamy, emotive drill beat, the Shepherd’s Bush artist reflected on his past life, referencing his time selling drugs with lines like, “Can make 10 thou’ off a random town, in a crackhead’s house / But I’m not too proud, but everything happened for a reason.”
Cee also expressed a desire for peace in his music, addressing past conflicts with a controversial statement: “I’ll keep it real, fuck drill / I can’t wait ’til the beef dies out and they don’t come ’round / For now, we’re still gonna stand our ground.” The raw honesty of the track, produced in such a short time, highlights his evolution both as an artist and a person.
