Southwest country music artist Evan Baxter recently captivated a packed audience at Saskatoon’s Coors Event Centre with a live debut of his latest EP, My Waste of Time. The Swift Current native, raised in the small town of Demaine, has been steadily building a following with his 90’s rock-infused country sound since the success of his 2023 hit, “The Show.”
Reflecting on his January 11 performance, Baxter highlighted the experience of watching his openers, Matt Johner and Rob McIntosh, take the stage. “It went absolutely amazing,” Baxter said. “Everyone did a phenomenal job with their playing and singing, and the crowd turnout was just awesome.”
Looking ahead, the young artist is set to perform live again on February 1 at Louis’ on the University of Saskatchewan campus and at Lucky Charlie’s Open Mic Night in Swift Current on February 22.
