Country music star Parker McCollum has assured fans he’s on the mend after a sudden illness forced him to cut a concert short in Pennsylvania. The Burn It Down singer, who recently kicked off his What Kind of Man tour, walked offstage mid-show on January 25, apologizing to the audience and promising full refunds.

Days later, McCollum took to TikTok to explain what happened, revealing that he fell “violently” ill just before his performance in State College. “I was in the meet-and-greet before the show, had about two people left, and out of nowhere, I felt it in my stomach,” he shared in a three-minute video. “I knew something was wrong.”

Despite feeling unwell, McCollum attempted to push through the show but quickly realized he couldn’t continue. “I’ve never had to walk offstage in all the years I’ve been doing this,” he said. “It was one of the worst things ever.”

The singer expressed his gratitude to fans for their understanding and shared that he spent the next 48 hours recovering. “I was as sick as I’ve ever been in my life,” he admitted. “Feeling a little better now. Thinking we’ll be good to go this weekend in Rhode Island.”

McCollum’s What Kind of Man tour is set to resume this weekend with stops in Rhode Island, Maine, and Massachusetts. Fans are hoping for a full recovery as he gets back on the road.
