With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Adam Chaffins is already stirring hearts with the release of the video for his latest single, “Trailer Trash.” The video, which draws on Chaffins’ own upbringing in a doublewide trailer in Eastern Kentucky, tells a relatable story of a hardworking individual striving to be seen for more than their background.
The video stars Chaffins’ wife and frequent collaborator, Brit Taylor, alongside their dogs, as she plays a stranded driver seeking help in Chaffins’ garage. What follows is a serendipitous romance, with a charming modern-day Romeo & Juliet twist—complete with a happier ending and their dogs in tow.
“Trailer Trash” is the second single from Chaffins’ upcoming Trailer Trash EP. With a smooth blend of country music and soul, the track evokes the deep, soulful sounds of Muscle Shoals in the late ’60s while maintaining a contemporary edge. Chaffins’ rich baritone complements the song’s message of self-empowerment, calling out the notion that one’s worth should not be defined by their origins.
“This song is an anthem for anyone who knows their worth, no matter what the world thinks,” says Chaffins. “It was a dream to record with such incredible players at Nashville’s legendary Sound Emporium studios.”
Produced by Frank Rogers, who has worked on 28 number one hits, including songs for Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker, the single follows previous releases “Layaway Momma” and “Little Bit at a Time.”
