Old Dominion’s ongoing 7 For 7 Ryman Residency has raised over $1 million for various charitable causes, surpassing their initial fundraising goals. The band launched the residency to celebrate their seven consecutive wins as Vocal Group of the Year, with a mission to give back to organizations that have supported them along the way.
“It’s not enough to feel good when you can also do something good. We’ve been so blessed and are so fortunate,” says frontman Matthew Ramsey. “When we started thinking about how to acknowledge this achievement, it seemed right to lift up the charities that have been part of our journey.”
The group set an ambitious goal to raise $100,000 for each of the seven charities, which include MusiCares, Save The Music, Backline Care, the Opry Trust Fund, CMA Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and The Ramsey Foundation.
“We knew it would be a blast, and we hoped we’d help our favorite charities. But man, this is more than we could’ve ever expected,” Ramsey adds.
