Written and produced by the eight-time Grammy winner alongside journalist Gerrick Kennedy, the project is a powerful reflection on the R&B legend’s evolution from teenager to adult and his enduring place in the music industry.
In the piece, Usher delves into the emotional complexities of his public image, recalling a time when he struggled with the question, “But who are you?” He describes feeling trapped by his fame and the transition to adulthood, offering a candid look into the internal battle many artists face.
