Ballaghaderreen-based alt-rock and electronic artist Death Milkshake has released the official music video for his single “Gravity,” which debuted earlier this January. The video, now streaming on YouTube, was filmed in some of Ireland’s most captivating locations, including the dramatic Caves of Keash in counties Roscommon and Sligo.

“Gravity” was commissioned as part of the Creative Places project, a collaboration with Creative Ireland and the Arts Council of Ireland. Written in autumn 2024, the song was created alongside photographer Eithne Gallagher and writer Joe Egan. The trio worked together to produce the song, a written piece, and the cover art for the single, all revolving around the theme “This must be the place.”

The song itself was inspired by Gallagher’s photograph, with its intro capturing the somber mood of the image before transitioning into a vibrant, beat-driven crescendo. The music video complements the song’s evolution, bringing the powerful imagery of “Gravity” to life.

Last week, Death Milkshake earned a spot as the sole Connacht artist on Today FM’s list of Irish artists to watch in 2025, following notable radio support for “Gravity” and tracks from his 2024 debut EP Shiny Things. The artist will perform live at Fibber Magees in Dublin on Saturday, February 8th, opening for the Irish funk-dance-rock band Durtburd as they launch their debut album Salad Dungeon. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
