Residents of Auburn and Placer County will have an opportunity to enjoy live country music while supporting a meaningful cause at the Power of Love benefit concert, set to take place Sunday, Feb. 16, at the Gold Country Fairgrounds. The event aims to raise funds and provide aid for victims of last month’s devastating Southern California fires.
The concert will feature seven acts, including the Amador Boys, Kerina Kinch, Buck Ford, Jennifer Belle, David Outlaw Band, The Damn Liars, and Motherlode. The lineup primarily consists of musicians from Placer County, the Sacramento region, the Bay Area, and Bakersfield.
Organized by Steffini Sellers, an Auburn resident and owner of C&C Event Services, and Cynthia Hoover, who runs The Bombshell Group (TBG), the event was inspired by their personal connections to those affected by the fires.
“When we heard about the fires in Southern California, it hit very close to home,” Sellers said. “Many of my friends and family were impacted, including first responders. We felt compelled to take action.”
Hoover echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the deep ties both organizers have with the music and arts community. “We are very integrated in the industry, and we felt we had to do something together to help,” she said.
Beyond raising funds, the concert is also offering performance opportunities for musicians displaced by the fires. “Some artists from Southern California have been able to secure small gigs in the Sacramento region,” Hoover noted. “This helps them rebuild their résumés and get back on their feet.”
