David Byrne is currently working on a new solo album, and The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser will be featured on the project.
Leithauser revealed that he drew inspiration from Talking Heads’ 1979 album Fear of Music while crafting his own solo album, This Side of the Island, set to release on March 7.
Leithauser highlighted Byrne’s Fear of Music track “Heaven” as a major influence, praising Byrne’s ability to blend beauty with rawness in his vocals. Leithauser also noted Byrne’s unique sense of humor, which continues to inspire him.
Byrne’s last solo album, American Utopia, was released in 2018, followed by an extensive tour. Leithauser’s upcoming album is set to drop via Glassnote, with pre-orders now available.
