February promises to be an exciting month for K-pop fans, as a wave of female talents prepares to heat up the charts. Solo stars Chung Ha, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Lisa, along with Australian singer-songwriter Olivia Marsh and rookie sensation Gyubin, are all set to release fresh music that will keep fans on their toes.
Chung Ha is leading the charge, releasing her highly anticipated new EP, Alivio, on Wednesday. The EP features two tracks she’s been teasing: the house-influenced anthem “STRESS” and the pop-rock track “Thanks for the Memories.” Alivio marks Chung Ha’s return after two months since her Christmas single and is her first full EP in nearly five years, following Flourishing in 2019.
Jisoo, of BLACKPINK, will release her second mini-album, AMORTAGE, on Friday. The album consists of four tracks, all personally written and composed by the singer herself. Following her album drop, Jisoo will embark on a solo fan meeting tour across Asia, beginning in Seoul and including stops in seven cities: Manila, Bangkok, Tokyo, Macao, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Hanoi.
Jisoo’s solo career has flourished since her debut with BLACKPINK in 2016, with her single album ME and its hit track “FLOWER” marking a global success in 2023. Her acting career is also thriving, with the release of Newtopia, a zombie romance comedy on Coupang Play and Prime Video.
Fans can expect fierce competition as these talented women dominate the K-pop scene this month.
