Shenandoah has unveiled a captivating six-minute mini-documentary about their iconic 1989 hit “Sunday in the South,” featuring country music stars Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean. The video offers insight into the band’s collaboration with Bryan and Aldean, as both Georgia natives reflect on their personal connections to the song.

In the documentary, Shenandoah’s Marty Raybon recalls the moment he pitched the idea of collaborating on a new version of “Sunday in the South” while backstage during Bryan’s “30 Number-One Records” event. “I mentioned to Jason, I said, ‘Man, look. We just cut a brand new track on ‘Sunday in the South,’ and we’d love for you guys to be part of it,’” Raybon shares.

Bryan and Aldean, both of whom have performed “Sunday in the South” at their own shows, recount how the song resonated with them growing up. “It just embodied where we were from, from Georgia,” Aldean says, while Bryan adds, “My earliest memories… it spoke exactly to my life.”

The full documentary, offering an intimate look at the song’s enduring legacy and the collaboration, is now available to watch on YouTube.
