The Weeknd is asking fans to “Cry for Me” in his latest music video. The dark, minimalist video for the track from his recent album Hurry Up Tomorrow features the R&B star in a dimly lit studio, wearing a hooded jacket as he delivers the haunting lyrics. Throughout the video, a woman appears, shedding black tears as The Weeknd sings, “And I hope you cry for me like I cry for you / Every night for you, take it easy on me, baby.”

Cyr for Me is one of the standout tracks from Hurry Up Tomorrow, the artist’s final album under his The Weeknd moniker, which dropped late last month. The album also features collaborations with Anitta, Playboi Carti, and Lana Del Rey.

Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd’s real name) opened up about his decision to step away from the persona that has defined his career. “It’s a headspace I’ve gotta get into that I just don’t have any more desire for,” he explained. “It becomes a rat race of more accolades, more success, more shows, more albums, more awards… It never ends until you end it.” Tesfaye added, “The Weeknd, whatever that is, it’s been mastered. No one’s gonna do it better than me, and I’m not gonna do it better than what it is right now.”

Looking ahead, Tesfaye will star in a feature film, set to release on May 16, alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan.
