Ōtautahi-based rock outfit FINDMYKEYS has dropped their explosive new single “Game,” marking the band’s first release of 2025 ahead of their highly anticipated debut EP, set to arrive in the coming months.
The track, described as a hard-hitting anthem, aims to fill the void in the rock scene left by the recent departures and changes in iconic bands. With influences ranging from Shihad’s retirement to the hiatus of legendary acts like Oasis, “Game” has quickly caught the attention of alternative stations, reflecting the band’s growing presence in the rock community.
The song’s meaning remains open to interpretation, with listeners speculating everything from “cricket” to “capitalism” and even “Traitors fan fiction.” The accompanying music video delves into these themes, presenting a broad spectrum of the “games” we play, offering something for everyone.
The track was recorded at Saltbox Studios and mixed and mastered at ShowPony in Auckland. FINDMYKEYS, made up of Tom, Dave, and Hadley (not to be confused with Tom, Dick, and Harry), has already seen success with previous singles, landing in the Top 30 of New Zealand’s Alt Radio Charts.
“Game” is expected to build on this momentum, as the band prepares to release more material in the near future.
