Flogging Molly fans have been hit with heartbreaking news as the iconic Irish-American Celtic punk band announced the cancellation of all their 2025 tour dates due to a serious health condition affecting frontman Dave King.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the band explained that King is currently undergoing treatment, prompting the decision to halt their upcoming performances. The band, formed in 1993, expressed deep concern for their leader’s well-being, asking fans to respect the privacy of both Dave and his wife, Bridget, during this challenging time.
The statement read, “To our family, friends, and fans, our fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition. Dave and Bridget ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time. We will share as we can. Any good thoughts or prayers you can send Dave’s way, he and we would appreciate it.”
Although the full details of King’s illness have not been disclosed, the band confirmed that the Salty Dog Cruise, scheduled in just 12 days, will proceed as planned. The cruise will still feature 18 bands, with members of Flogging Molly on board to celebrate the event in honor of their captain, Dave King.
As the band takes this necessary break to focus on their leader’s recovery, fans who purchased tickets are advised to contact their point of purchase for refunds.
