South African singer Tyla has enlisted the legendary Sean Paul for the remix of her hit track “Push 2 Start,” released on February 14.
Tyla shared her excitement about collaborating with Paul, citing his iconic hits as a source of inspiration during her childhood. “Everyone loves Sean Paul,” she said, referencing his 2003 classic “I’m Still in Love With You.” “I wanted that nostalgic, special vibe on the song, and he’s been wanting to work together, so this felt like the perfect fit.”
This collaboration marks Tyla’s second partnership with a Jamaican artist, following her earlier work with dancehall star Skillibeng and Gunna on the original version of “Jump.”
“Push 2 Start” first appeared in October as part of the deluxe edition of her self-titled debut album, and has since become a major success. The track landed on the Billboard Hot 100, following the success of her top 10 hit “Water,” and spent eight weeks at the top of the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
