Chicago-based indie-rock band Impulsive Hearts is set to release a remastered version of their 2016 debut album Sorry in the Summer, out March 28 via Cavity Search Records. Along with the album announcement, the band dropped a new music video for their track “SVE YRSELF,” offering a glimpse into the updated sound of a beloved classic.
With over a decade of experience in the Chicago music scene, Impulsive Hearts has earned recognition for their distinctive style, which blends surfy indie rock with emotional depth. Critic Jessica Hopper of the Chicago Tribune once described frontwoman Danielle Sines’ songwriting as “studies in contrast, sweet melodies and then distortion and rage.”
The band’s evolution is evident in their third album, Fit 4 The Apocalypse, released last year, which continued their collaboration with Cavity Search Records. Drawing comparisons to acts like Best Coast and Dum Dum Girls, Impulsive Hearts’ music also carries a unique Midwestern melancholy, adding depth to their garage-pop sound.
Fans can expect a blend of familiar surf-rock roots and fresh, refined energy when Sorry in the Summer drops in March.
