Jelly Roll has earned his seventh No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart as his track “Liar” climbs from No. 2 to the top on the February 22-dated chart. The song saw a 1% increase in impressions, reaching 30.3 million between February 7-13, according to Luminate.
Co-written by Jelly Roll, Ashley Gorley, Ben Johnson, and Taylor Phillips, “Liar” is the second single from his album Beautifully Broken. Produced by Zach Crowell, the song marks another milestone for the Nashville native, who achieved his first No. 1 on both the Top Country Albums and all-genre Billboard 200 charts with Beautifully Broken in October 2023. His previous album, Whitsitt Chapel, peaked at Nos. 2 and 3 on the respective charts in June 2023.
With “Liar” reaching No. 1 in just 14 weeks, Jelly Roll now holds the record for the quickest time to top the Country Airplay chart among his hits. His previous singles, “I Am Not Okay” and “Halfway to Hell,” each took 21 weeks to reach No. 1.
All seven of Jelly Roll’s Country Airplay entries have reached the top spot, tying him with Kane Brown for the longest active No. 1 streak. Brown, meanwhile, is eyeing his eighth consecutive leader, with his single “Backseat Driver” (Zone 4/RCA Nashville) climbing to No. 22, marking a 5% increase in streams.
