Taylor Swift has made history, surpassing Madonna to become the female artist with the most No. 1 albums in U.K. chart history. The milestone came with the release of Lover (Live in Paris), a live album originally launched in 2023 and reissued this February with a special heart-shaped double vinyl edition to mark Valentine’s Day.
The album, which sold 47,000 units in its opening week, secured Swift’s 13th No. 1 on the Official Albums Chart, making her the first female artist to achieve such a feat. Notably, the album’s success was powered entirely by physical sales, marking the first time since Swift’s Reputation in 2017 that a No. 1 album was reached solely through physical copies. Currently, Lover (Live in Paris) is not available on streaming services.
This achievement ties Swift with Elvis Presley for the third-most No. 1 albums on the U.K. chart, with 13 each. However, they are still behind The Rolling Stones with 14, and both The Beatles and Robbie Williams, who each boast 15 No. 1s.
