In a thrilling moment, Post Malone teamed up with the surviving members of Nirvana to perform their legendary anthem “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” The all-star event, held at Radio City Music Hall in New York on Friday, featured the reformed band—Malone, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear—delivering an electrifying rendition of the iconic track.
Introduced by Adam Sandler, who reflected on Nirvana’s historic SNL performance during his time as a cast member, the collaboration between Post Malone and Nirvana’s living legends added another chapter to their ongoing reunions. This performance came just weeks after “Hervana”—the surviving members of Nirvana joined by female lead vocalists—took the stage as a surprise guest at the FireAid concert, marking their first appearance together since the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
Post Malone has long been a fan of Nirvana, previously performing a full set of their music during a COVID-era livestream, which will be released on vinyl this April as a Record Store Day exclusive.
The SNL 50 concert also showcased a star-studded lineup, including Cher, Lady Gaga, Jack White, David Byrne, Robyn, Arcade Fire with St. Vincent, Eddie Vedder, Bonnie Raitt with Chris Martin, and more, delivering memorable performances that celebrated the rich musical history of Saturday Night Live.
