Cody Johnson’s Nashville show was a night to remember, filled with surprise guest appearances and unforgettable duets. The performance, which marked the second of his back-to-back dates at Bridgestone Arena as part of his Leather Tour, kept fans on the edge of their seats with unexpected collaborations.
The first surprise of the evening came when Ian Munsick joined Johnson on stage for a powerful rendition of “Long Live Cowgirls.” The song, featured on Munsick’s 2023 White Buffalo album, was originally recorded as a duet with Johnson. While Munsick has since released a solo version to country radio, their live performance in Nashville served as a poignant reminder of why their voices work so well together.
As Johnson continued his set, he performed hits like “Human,” “Take It Like a Man,” and “The Fall,” keeping the energy high for the packed arena.
However, the night reached its peak when Johnson began to perform his current single, “I’m Gonna Love You.” The song, a duet with country superstar Carrie Underwood, had fans eagerly speculating whether she might make a surprise appearance. Johnson started the song solo, just as it’s heard on the recorded version, but the crowd quickly caught on that something special was about to happen.
As Johnson sang, the familiar blonde hair of Underwood appeared as she walked up the stage’s stairs to join him. The crowd erupted into a deafening cheer as the two stars harmonized on one of country music’s most anticipated collaborations.
The duet, a highlight of the night, further cemented Johnson’s standing as one of country music’s most electrifying live performers.
