Country music icon Trace Adkins, known for hits like “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” is set to headline the Downtown Country Jam in Fort Dodge on August 9. Adkins, whose career boasts over 11 million albums sold and 40 charted singles, is a towering figure both musically and literally, standing at 6 feet, 6 inches.
“Trace Adkins represents our most well-known, high-profile country headliner to date,” said Ted Bodensteiner, vice president of Shellabration Inc., the organization behind the event. “This year’s Downtown Country Jam should be big time.”
Adkins will perform at the event’s Central Avenue and Ninth Street stage, with Jim Reed Jr., president of Shellabration Inc., describing him as “genuine on stage.” The show will also feature local talent, with Jared Benson serving as the opening act and The Boys, an Iowa-based band led by two brothers, adding to the lineup.
For the first time, the Downtown Country Jam will offer a VIP Experience and Lounge for sponsors, providing exclusive access to upscale amenities including canopy cover, tables, chairs, table service, and complimentary food and drinks, according to Craig Schlienz, a board member of Shellabration Inc.
Tickets for the event will go on sale February 21 at ticketweb, with prices starting at $40 and increasing to $50 after July 21.
