Lil Wayne took center stage during the SNL50 anniversary special, delivering a high-energy, career-spanning medley of his biggest hits. Backed by The Roots, the New Orleans rapper performed crowd favorites like “Uproar,” “Lollipop,” “6 Foot 7 Foot,” “Mrs. Officer,” and capped the set with his iconic track “A Milli.”

The performance came just days after Wayne revealed that Tha Carter VI, his long-awaited album, will drop on June 6. Prior to the SNL50 appearance, Wayne had teased a special announcement, which he later unveiled in a humorous extended Cetaphil commercial titled “We’re all a lil Sensitive.” The commercial cleverly addressed his disappointment over not being selected for the Super Bowl halftime show, before sharing the highly anticipated album’s release date.

SNL50 featured an array of musical talent, with Sabrina Carpenter and Paul Simon opening the show with “Homeward Bound,” and Miley Cyrus, Brittany Howard, and The Roots paying tribute to Sinéad O’Connor with “Nothing Compares 2 U.” Paul McCartney brought the evening to a close with a Beatles medley, including “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight,” and “The End.”
