After nearly 16 years, Lady Gaga has confirmed that the story of her iconic “Telephone” collaboration with Beyoncé is set to continue. Gaga was asked if a second part to the music video was in the works. “Yes,” she confirmed, though she admitted she didn’t know when the follow-up would be released.

When pressed about Beyoncé’s involvement in the sequel, Gaga teased, “Maybe,” sparking excitement among fans.

The buzz surrounding a “Telephone” continuation has been building since Beyoncé hinted at it last year. In her “Cowboy Carter” teaser during the 2024 Super Bowl, she was seen driving a taxi through a barren landscape, which fans quickly connected to the duo’s 2009 music video. In the original, Beyoncé rescues Gaga from prison, and they drive around in the infamous red-and-yellow “p—- wagon.”

Gaga also remained tight-lipped about whether the new song will feature on her highly anticipated eighth studio album, Mayhem, due out on March 7. The album will include previously released tracks like “Abracadabra,” “Disease,” and her Grammy-winning collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Die With a Smile.”
