Noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells, consisting of Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller, have announced their upcoming album Bunky Becky Birthday Boy, set to release on April 4 via Mom + Pop. The album will feature the previously released track “Wanna Start a Band?” alongside the brand-new single “Bunky Pop,” which arrives today with a music video starring actress Dylan Gelula.
In a statement, Miller explained the inspiration behind “Bunky Pop,” saying, “We wanted the track to sound like a dog having the best moment of her life without any of the burden of self-consciousness.” He went on to reveal that “Bunky Pop” helped shape the entire album, with “Bunky Becky” becoming a character woven throughout each song.
Sleigh Bells’ last album, Texis, was released in 2021. The duo will embark on a North American tour starting in May.
