K-pop powerhouse HYBE is joining forces with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder to launch a brand-new boyband. The project will begin with a global talent search, with key figures including HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun, and Tedder leading the initiative.
Following the talent search, a training program combining HYBE’s K-pop expertise with Tedder’s creative vision will take place in Los Angeles, where the group’s members will be groomed. Tedder, who has previously collaborated with HYBE’s acts like KATSEYE, &TEAM, and TXT, is no stranger to the company’s musical projects. This new boyband venture comes on the heels of HYBE America’s successful debut of KATSEYE in partnership with Geffen Records last year.
