Pop music star Jessica Simpson has made her long-awaited return to the music scene, releasing a new single titled “Use My Heart Against Me” on Friday, February 21. The track marks her first new music in 17 years, and Simpson made sure to record it in a place that holds deep personal significance.
For this project, Simpson returned to Nashville and chose the legendary Studio B at the RCA Victor building—a venue famously known as the birthplace of the “Nashville Sound.” Over the years, the studio has hosted icons like Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Chet Atkins, adding another layer of history to Simpson’s own musical journey.
In a behind-the-scenes video, Simpson shared her connection to the city: “Nashville’s always been a place of self-discovery for me,” she said. “It’s been many firsts… I actually recorded a gospel record here when I was 14, 14 and 15.”
She continued, “It’s always given me a voice… a way to connect my words to my actual voice. And there’s a lot of beauty in that, a lot of light in that.”
Simpson’s upcoming album, Nashville Canyon, Part 1, is set to drop on March 21, promising even more of her musical evolution.
